The season has wrapped up for the Lake Park girls soccer team, and their hard work throughout the season has led to a great finale.

“At first glance, the season for JV didn’t go all too well,” said JV soccer player Alex Juzwiak. “We didn’t win a lot and didn’t make goals. But, as a team we improved and had goals that we accomplished together. And I consider that as a good season.”

With all the practices they had, many thought that they had improved significantly and had a better season. However, not everyone shared this view, and thought that they did not do as well as they could have this season.

“It was a rough season for me and for everyone on the team because we ended the season with one tied game and all the rest were losses,” said JV soccer player Wendy Aranda-Salgado. “We won not a single game and that’s primarily why it was a rough season.”

Though the season may not have been the best for the players, they still helped each other improve and supported their efforts to do well in the sport.

“My season was pretty good as it went on throughout the year,” said JV soccer player Alexis Morris. “The rest of the team was very supportive and gave constructive criticism to everyone.”

The team’s efforts have helped in the long run because some of the team personally improved as athletes.

“I personally had a goal of improving my offensive plays which did happen,” Juzwiak said. “As a team we had a goal of not getting our time cut during games. Although it didn’t happen at every game we did pretty well with accomplishing it.”

“Each and every one of our players puts in 100% and yes we may not be #1 but we have fun playing the sport we love,” Juzwiak said. “And to me that’s all that matters.”
